High-Interest rate loans, pushy salespeople, an off and on service department. One time they lost my wheel lock and denied they had ever used it even though they just replaced my brakes. So many bad experiences.

Worst customer service Emily D

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
After requesting information for the last few days on a Ford Escape with no result I finally spoke with Emily D. The first 10 minutes after being on the phone I felt like I was just another car deal. So I called back to request to know why the manager I just spoke with couldn't deal with pricing? He said I'll have a manager call you back shortly which turned out to be Emily D again. She requested to know why I just called and I said to request to know why I managers can not give pricing .. after going back and forth with a nasty attitude (which she gladly admitted to have) and kept asking what can she help me with after I kept telling her what I needed, I finally said at this point I don't feel like this is going to go well you have a nasty attitude which you said you probably won't lose so who's your boss? At this point I just want the car and to leave this in the past, she laughed and said luckily I won't be dealing with you. I was so calm and relaxed during this phone call even though I honestly wanted to lose it. I've been in the car business for over 10 years and have never experienced a sales manager nor a sales person talking to a customer like this. We are a 2 hr drive so all I wanted to know was a few questions regarding the title, miles, condition, and to know an out the door price. Period.

FRAUD/SCAMS they pull

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Organization is engaged in fraud, and is currently trying to defraud me with: Spot Delivery Sales – This type of NC auto fraud occurs when a dealer manipulates a buyer into believing they have been financed at an agreed upon interest rate. Financing Fraud – There are many variations on this type of auto fraud in North Carolina. Some of the more common include incorrectly calculating or utilizing credit score reporting, deferred down payments, or negative equity, unlawfully inflating sale prices for credit customers, illegal use of conditional delivery agreements, and engaging in “packing” schemes. Undisclosed Damage or Mechanical Problems – This type of auto fraud can involve failing to reveal an accident, failing to reveal that a car was a returned lemon or failing to reveal that the car was a rental return or salvage vehicle. Laws regulating North Carolina auto fraud prohibit auto dealers from deliberately misleading consumers. That is why we urge car buyers to ask directly whether their proposed purchase was in an accident. The car dealer is required to tell you. Undisclosed Vehicle History – Selling a vehicle without disclosing its previous history is a violation of the law. Loan packing – Adding unwanted products to bump up monthly payments is a violation of the law. Title fraud – Title fraud may be part of other schemes, such as failure to disclose that a vehicle was a previous rental car or was a lemon bought back by the manufacturer.

Buying car with daughter, then changed outcome when she went

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Went to get a car for my daughter salesman gave us a price , told him we had to think over. To high for daughter $319 per month 60 months. Called the gentleman back next day asked if he could get down to $310 same length, he said he could. This was Saturday, we had to leave Monday to end vacation. My daughter went to get car Monday. They told her they had a better deal $304 a month but ended up being 72 months. It just cost us $3600 more for the car! I was better off with the original deal @ $319 for 60 months. I believe they took advantage of my daughter with us not being there. Didn’t find out about the deal until a week later. Then a week later she had to have AC fixed they charged her to fix it! I would never go back to this place or recommend it to anyone. In fact I will be tweeting this so all may see!

Scam artist and liars

After searching for a year-and-a-half to buy a Dodge Durango I find one at Neuwirth Motors. Promised everything was tip top shape, the hundred plus point inspection was phenomenal, etc. Was promised if anything was wrong I can return it within 14 days, I returned in five with my AC not working. I returned it they gassed it up, did this three times each time swearing that everything was fixed. Not only was my AC not fixed they messed up my engine cover, and now I have a whistle coming from my AC. Do not go to these people they will lie to your face and steal money!

READ BEFORE BUYING!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I would take away several stars if it would allow. I will start off by saying I am extremely dissatisfied with all aspects of this dealership. I am literally there it seems monthly since I purchased my last Jeep last October. I purchased a BRAND new Jeep Cherokee limited October 2015. I was very hesitate but the sales guy who I will not name pushed. I wanted a certain color and after telling me a week later he has my color, I went there to sign documents, only to find out it was blue NOT black like I asked. He stated he knew after I got there it had everything I wanted expect the color. So I settled and signed. About 2 months after having that Jeep, it started shifting aggressively. I took it to service. They stated it needed updates. I could not understand that because it was just purchased but again I let it slide. Updates were completed and 2 weeks later it started shifting aggressively again. I took it back, I was told this time it needed a part added to the transmission and needed a reset. SO that to was completed. A month after that I was experiencing the same problem. Dropped it off yet again and was called and notified that I needed a new transmission. ARE YOU KIDDING???!! So a new transmission was put in. January comes and again, hiccups with transmission. This time I am furious. I go into sales. After 2 weeks of back and forth with Kevin Fox, he put me in a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Limited and my payments went UP!!!! Which I told them from day one what I am willing to pay and my MAX payment. Well now it is December 2016, and guess what??? My Jeep is shifting aggressively. I have gone through the updates a month ago, the part put on my transmission 2 weeks ago and today I am picking up my Jeep that just had the transmission REPLACED. Second Jeep in a year. Because of all this my credit has take a massive hit. Also, I called the service department SEVEN times in a row to try and reach my service guy and nobody answered. The service department has no communication with one another and they do not communicate with their customers. I am extremely upset!!!! I really want to turn in my keys and say I am DONE with this 9 speed transmissions. I want to reach corporate so I am looking for a number now.

Neuwirth MOTORS. WHAT A JOKE WORST DEALER I have ever seen

I have a dodge 4x4diesel I bought new in Charlotte . Retired in pender Co. Got 2 recalls from Dodge for reprogramming the computer 10 mins. Tops. Mechanic didn't know what he was doing blew the computer up had to get rental car went to pick it up 2 days later and the mechanic went to lunch in my truck don't know how long he had been gone but he returned 45 mins later. I WAS PISSED. The recall was to reprogram the computer so if the engine was running and you had it in gear and opened the door the horn would blow to warn you he didn't need to drive it at all but he was gone over an hour joy riding. The other recall was to replace tie rod end they told me they would call me when the part came in I called for months I finally gave up also while my truck stayed over night transfer shift rod was stollen they did replace that. I was a mechanic for 38 years I've seen some bad dealerships in my time but this is the worst dealership I've ever seen please BEWARE. Of this place service SUCKS

Purchased Jeep Overland. Next day Voice integration system not working. Wanted me to pay deductible to get it fixed. Service manager and assistant made false accusations after I said I was calling Gillyland or whatever his name is. Service department destroyed overhead console. stained carpet with grease. Charged for tire rotation. I marked tires and they were never rotated. Left oil change 2 quarts low. Oil stick missing. Nothing but rude and full of excuses "New service manager". I was told by Gillyland that he was glad I was perfect but the people who worked for him wewre not and the only perfect person he knew other than me was GOD !!! NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN WILL I DEAL WITH NEUWIRTH MOTORS. BE WARNED.

Poor Service

I bought a Jeep Commander from Neuwirth Motors. After two years the transmission failed and needed to be rebuilt. Again about another two years later the transmission failed again and needed to be rebuilt. This time I barely got it off of the Neuwirth lot before it started slipping again and again needed to be rebuilt. I tolerated this situation since I had purchased an extended warranty that covered much of the expense but I did not feel too comfortable taking the Jeep on long trips. Like clockwork the transmission again failed about two year later where this time Neuwirth said that they would take care of me. Their solution was for me to purchase a new transmission for over $5k. I took the Jeep around the corner to Cottman Transmission who rebuilt it for a fraction of the cost at Neuwirth and Cottman identified that the cause of the repeated failures was that Neuwirth was using incorrect parts. I have since had no problems with the transmission. Jeep corporate was very helpful and refunded much of the money that I had lost but my problem now is where do I get my Jeeps serviced?

Larceny at Neuwirth Motors in Wilmington, NC

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We had new tires and lift kits placed on our Jeeps. Because we live out of town, we were told that they would store the old tires and rims until we could get back in town. After a couple of months of back-and-forth, we were told today that they were gone and that they had no obligation to keep them or contact us when they were ready to get rid of them. The manager, Alan Thomas, told me I could have our attorney contact their attorney if we had further issues. Wow, what a great Christian-based company! Great job Alan and crew!

Horrible Management, Where you come LAST!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought a new Jeep Liberty in 2009 from Neuwirth Motors in Wilmington NC. It was supposed to come with full size spare. The sticker and paperwork confirmed this. I noticed a week later that it was a donut and called the dealer. The dealer refused to give me the full sized spare I paid for until I called and wrote Jeep Corporate. Service since then has been horrible. Long waits, unnecessary repairs suggested. Today I replaced all 4 tires at Costco and asked for the best one to be put on as the spare. Costco told me that the spare was a different size (wrong size) wheel. I learned today that what Neuwirth did back when I bought it was they took the wrong size spare off one of their used Jeeps and put it on our new Jeep. I learned this today from their own service person who actually printed the internal paperwork for me. Because it is underneath, I could not see the wheel size, just that it was a full size tire. Today the General Manager, Alan Thomas, refused to give me the proper spare size, the one I purchased years ago. The GM would not even come out to face me. He hid in the back until I gave up and left. I obtained the home email of the owner from a friend and just emailed him, John Gillilan. We have three Jeeps. We bought one at Neuwirth (mistake), one at North Point Jeep in Winston-Salem (a great dealership), and one used. We do not service the Jeeps in Wilmington NC because Neuwirth's reputation, and our experience there, is so bad. We want a safe spare wheel that matches our wheel size. We paid for this in 2009. We were tricked and deceived with a used one that does not fit by the same dealer. We are not feeling good about Neuwirth. People need to know how bad they are. Within hours of this event today we had heard from three friends who had horrific service stories about Neuwirth. We are not alone.

Terrible Service Department

2003 Sebring Convertible quoted $1175 - $1500 for water pump replacement that turned into $2100, picked up car with scratches all down front bumper, broken windshield spray nozzle on hood, broke a motor mount during repair and broken oil pressure sensor, causing oil to squirt all over underside of motor, transmission, and exhaust. Car was over heating and I was stranded two days after getting car back because another component blew out on the cooling system, even though they "Pressure Tested" the system, I also told service writer of smoke rolling out from under car, he told me it was residual oil from all the repair work. Absolutely terrible workmanship! Service writer was very deceitful, and shady. I took my car to a Chrysler Dealership to get the work done properly and I got totally screwed over. Jimmy Romano at Neuwirth Motors Service Department in Wilmington, NC. is absolutely the worst. BEWARE. This is only a recap of the actual events, I've had to return the car 4 or 5 times, to get everything squared away. I'v been promised to have the front of my car repainted but I will have to wait for a Saturday when Jimmy is working and only if it is not raining because they want to paint it outside under a tent?!?

I worked at this place as a service advisor and everything sounds pretty much accurate. Romano is a crook and a lot worse. The techs at that place were not at all quality or highly trained.

Guest

You did not tow the car I had to pay to have the car towed BACK to your location 3 days after spending $1,750.00 on the water pump replacement. On the service paperwork it says that the coolant system was pressurized and tested.

If it actually WAS tested your service tech would've seen the other leaking component which caused the car to die on me in traffic on college road. Then after paying an additional $350.00 for that part to be replaced, the car continued to smoke terribly, and Mr Romano tried to tell me again that it was just residual oil on the motor from the repairs..and again on your service paperwork it says all fluids checked NO LEAKS FOUND.. which is total BS because the oil was blowing out onto the exhaust because your incompetant service techs broke the oil pressure sensor right off, at which point Mr Shady Romano tried to soak me AGAIN for me repairs 1 day after getting the car back again. MR Romano is a schiester..

a slick talker, who screws people over whenever he can to make more money for your service dept. I pity all those senior citizens that you people take advantage of. I believe that your motive is to create multiple repairs on used cars that come in for repairs and then you try to sell them another car when the consumer is faced with incredibly over-priced repairs at a "reputable" dealership like yours, Mr Romano is an asset to you for 15 yrs ONLY because he is so good at screwing over people that don't know any better. Your service tech's are ***'s and your service writer Mr Romano is very deceitful, I know other people that will NEVER go to your establishment ever again.

And lastly as far as the scratches all over the nose of my car from your tech workers, Mr Romano promised to have it repainted, as I mentioned in an earlier post here, he has instructed me to bring the car in on a saturday when he is working a saturday so he can have his guy do it.. but only on a saturday when it's not rainy, because he "works under a tent" ??? WTF is that *** ??? UNDER A TENT ???

I swear if I were a person of more finacial ability I would hire lawyers and do everything in my power to find other dis-gruntled customers and form a class-action suit against this dealership and sue Nuewerth Motors repeatedly until you were forced to go bankrupt due to legal expenses, then you might understand how angry I truely with you right now. And finally I would like to have the paint fixed on my car, however, I cannot afford to have it towed to your dealership, because of all the money I've spent in the last 3 or 4 wks at your service dept, because NOW it won't even start!?!??! so you tell me.. what happened now..

Mr Romano what did you sabotage on my car? the computer? nuetral saftey switch?

how ironic.. I wish I had hidden cameras under the hood of that vehicle so I could prove exactly how crooked your service dept really is..

Neuwirth Motors Inc admits there were some problems that occurred during the service process with Ray28443. Up to this point we have towed the car back to our shop and replaced the oil pressure switch, washer nozzles, and cleaned the oil under the car at no cost to Ray28443.

We have accepted responsibility for repairing scratches we may have caused. The service writer is not deceitful or shady and has been employed here for over 15 years with scores of happy customers. We did not break the motor mount, it was broken when we removed it, which is not uncommon on a vehicle over 100,000 miles.

No additional labor was charged for motor mount replacement since the removal was part of water pump repair. We are sorry Ray28443 had a bad experience and will continue to attempt to resolve any outstanding issues with repair quality or damage we may have caused.- Neuwirth Motors
